First Cruise Call of 2001

May 2nd saw the first call of the 2001 cruising season for Harwich International Port.

The M.V. ‘ARION’ made the first of 6 scheduled calls into the Harwich Port.

‘ARION’ is owned by Arcalia Shipping and is being chartered by Travelscope for cruises to Northern Europe and the Baltic region.

2001 is due to be another busy year for the north Essex port. 43 vessel calls are confirmed, with new ships such as ‘Amsterdam’, ‘Legend of the Seas’ and ‘Sundream’ all making their maiden calls.

Page & Moy’s popular ‘Ocean Majesty’ is returning again in addition to Travelsphere’s charter of ‘Funchal’ and Arena Travel’s charter of ‘Princess Danae’.
