Thamesport (London) Limited has taken delivery of a further eight new Terberg terminal tractors. These are in addition to the seven machines that arrived at the Port in October last year.

Thamesport currently has 35 terminal tractors operating on site. With a total area of 85 hectares, this injection of new equipment, to replace older, less efficient machines, will ensure faster turnaround times to and from the yard and quay.

In addition to the terminal tractors, Thamesport took delivery of three new Kalmar empty container handlers in March from Finning. These machines, Kalmar DCE90-45E7s, are capable of stacking seven high, and now enable the Port to handle empty containers even more quickly and efficiently.

The terminal tractors feature powerful 4x2 drivelines that are suitable for handling heavy cargo up to Gross Combination weights of 75 tons. All tractors are built to conform to a modular concept, with ergonomically designed safety cabs, fulfilling ROPS (Roll-Over Protection Systems) and FOPS (Falling Object Protection Systems) safety tests. They feature the latest in chassis construction methods and low emission engine technologies.
